Try the Shortlist for two weeks, £5

Full access from the first morning. Then £49 for the winter pass to 31 March 2027, or £95 for a year. Nothing renews after that.

If you've paid for tips before, you'll know the feeling. A bank that went fourteen losers on the bounce while the man who sent them told you the big one was coming. By the time it came, you'd either stopped following or you'd nothing left to put on it.

Lee did that for twenty years, one service after another. Then he sat down with every bet he'd placed and worked out where the money had gone. It went on big prices, because big prices are exciting. The bets that made money were the dull ones. Horses near the top of the market, backed when there was a proper reason they were there.

So that's what the Shortlist is. Every morning Lee takes the fancied horses across Britain and Ireland, crosses out the ones that are short for the wrong reasons, and the two or three that are left go on at the Betfair Exchange. It lands in your inbox before racing, with the stake and one line on why.

£5 for two weeks, full access

Everything a member gets, from the first racing morning after you join. The shortlist by email, the stake, the line on why, and your members' log in with every past card.

£5 today, then £49 on day 15 unless you cancel. The £49 is the winter pass, which covers you to 31 March 2027. The exact date of the charge is shown at checkout and you get a reminder email around day 12. Cancel in your member account before the due time, or email Lee in time to stop it. Email, website and Telegram access continue until your paid period expires, then stop automatically. Full payment terms.

Start the two week trial, £5

Paid securely by card through Stripe. Your welcome email comes straight away. Not a free trial: it costs £5, and it rolls into the winter pass unless you stop it.

What you get, whichever way you join

  • Lee's shortlist by email every racing morning, usually one to three horses, and the same card on Telegram
  • The race, the horse, win or place, the stake, and a line from Lee on why it's there
  • Your own members' log in, with today's card and every past card
  • Everything at Betfair starting price, so there's no rush to get on
  • An email on quiet days telling you there's nothing on
  • Replies from Lee when you email, not a help desk

If your first month on the £49 loses, or you just don't like it, you get the £49 back

Two ways to get your £49 back. If the first month's bets after your trial finish down at the advised stakes, at Betfair starting price after commission, email Lee within 14 days of the month ending. Or if at any point in your first 30 days on the pass you decide it isn't for you, for any reason, email Lee. Either way he refunds the £49. No forms, no questions. The £5 for the trial isn't refunded, because you've had the two weeks.

Why the winter

The winter jumps season is where the record has done its best work. Last winter, October to the end of March, the rules made +34.8 points from 696 bets, with the deepest dip all winter only 9.4 points. The winter before made +9.6 from 262 bets. At £10 a point, that's £348 and £96.

The season is already under way. Cheltenham's first meeting is on 23 October, and the big winter fixtures follow from there to the Festival on 16 to 19 March.

What happens when you join

  1. You pay £5 by card. It takes a minute. Checkout shows you the date the £49 would be taken.
  2. You finish signup on the thank-you page. Create your account or log in using the same email used at Stripe, then verify that address. Your pass unlocks after payment confirmation.
  3. The next racing morning, the shortlist lands in your inbox. The same card is in your log in.
  4. On day 12 you get a reminder. Carry on and the £49 is taken on day 15. Or cancel in your member account before the due time.

Questions people ask before joining

Is the £5 trial a free trial?

No. It costs £5, you get two weeks of everything, and on day 15 the £49 winter pass is taken unless you've cancelled. We say that plainly because it matters. The date is on your checkout page, the reminder lands on day 12, and cancelling is one email or one click.

How do I cancel the trial?

Cancel the future £49 payment in your member account before its due time, or email Lee in time to stop it. Website, email and Telegram access continue until the two weeks finish. Removal then happens automatically.

How much do I stake?

Results are in points, and you choose what a point is worth. Most win bets are 1 point, comeback bets are half a point, and place bets a quarter or half a point. Every tip tells you the stake. If a point is £10, a 1 point win bet is £10.

What about Betfair commission?

Every figure on this site already has 2% commission taken off winning bets, so what you see is what the record made after Betfair's cut.

How does the refund work?

It's on the £49. Your first month is the 30 days from the day the pass starts. If the bets in it add up to a loss at the advised stakes, at Betfair starting price after commission, email Lee within 14 days of the month ending and the £49 comes back. And if you decide in those first 30 days that it isn't for you, for any reason, the same applies. One refund per person. The £5 for the trial stays paid.

Is there a limit on members?

Yes. The first season is capped at 150 members, because Lee answers every email himself and wants to keep it that way. When it's full, the join buttons come down and you can leave your email for the next season.

Does anything renew?

Only the trial rolls into the winter pass, and only if you let it. After that, nothing. The winter pass stops on 31 March 2027 and the year stops twelve months after you join. If Lee runs a summer shortlist for winter pass members, you'll get an email about it, and it's up to you.
